MESSAGE
OF HIS EXCELLENCY BHARRAT JAGDEO, PRESIDENT OF GUYANA ON THE
OCCASION OF YOUMAN NABI
Greetings to all Guyanese, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of You-Man-Nabi.
On this auspicious day, the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, we should reflect on one of his relevant quotations: "Wealth, social position and racial superiority do not give special status to anyone; all of you are equal in the eyes of God. Itis only the path of righteousness, which makes you a distinguished human being."
The Prophet Muhammad preached and taught the message of peace, love, compassion and humanity. His teaching serves as a guide in the fight against poverty, injustice and oppression.
On this important occasion, I call on all Guyanese to reflect on the message and work of Prophet Muhammad given its universal relevance to mankind.
