PERMANENT COMMITTEE
FOR CONSERVANCY DAM
Cabinet considered the development with the rehabilitation of the East Demerara Water Conservancy and identified a need for intensified support for monitoring of the state of the Dam.
The contractors are on the job with greater rates of correction of the slipped areas and the slopes.
The Permanent Body would include membership form the Army, Ministry of Agriculture, Guysuco and NDIB.
INTERIM: NATIONAL AMERINDIAN TOUSHOU COMMITTEE
Cabinet considered the attempts by a cooperation agency to establish the Council, particularly in the context of the impressive Agenda and the short timeframe for the conclusion.
Cabinet viewed with concern the patently non-transparent mechanism used by the NGO/Civil Society Organisation and donors in organising the meeting and inviting members.
The highly selective nature of the exclusion of the Regional Chairman of Regions 1 and 2 as well as the geographic MP's from the PPP/C.
